1)  Food grade MgCl2 is used as a food coagulant such as in the making of tofu.
2)  It is used to produce lightweight magnesium alloy which is common in the aerospace and automotive industry. 
3)  Used as cement and other construction materials. It is also used as fire proofing material.
4)  Road de-icing in winter.
