The Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Tianjin Municipality Mr. Xiao Huaiyuan visited Malaysia with Tianjin delegation to attend the Malacca Conference in November 2014, when he visited the Headquarters of Malaysian  Xianda Group. The Group Chairman Mr. Mah Sau Cheong and the Chairman and President of Xianda (Tianjin) Seawater Resources Development Co., Ltd. met with Xiao Huaiyuan and had discussion regarding the Seawater Desalination and Integrated Utilisation Project invested by Xianda Group in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone. Xiao said, the Project is an important one of economic and technological cooperation between China and Malaysia. Xianda Group has abundant experience and capital capability in water treatment industry. Xiao hoped that Xianda Group could complete the project construction as soon as possible to make its due contribution and benefits. Mah and Wee said, Xianda Group will work closely with Tianjin Municipal Government. The Project is going to be a demonstration project of seawater desalination and circular economy with the lowest cost globally. The Project will be the first zero discharge seawater desalination and salt-making project to make its contribution to the economic development of Tianjin and China as well as to the overall strategic cooperation between the two countries.
