On 11 April 2023, the reporter of News of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei program made a visit to the construction site of Xianda Tianjin Nangang Desalination Project and reported the construction progress. The reporter was briefed with the general introduction, process and construction progress of the project, and shot the scene of construction site. The interview was broadcasted in News of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei program of Tianjin News Channel at 8:30 on 21 April.

Mr. Cheng Jew Kien, the COO of Xianda told the reporter during the interview that Xianda project is able to produce 300,000 tons of desalinated water per day, and can replace the use of 100 million tons of surface water every year.


The project will supply high quality desalinated water to the entire industrial zone, satisfying the water demand of the industrial customers of high water consumption in Nangang Industrial Zone. The main customers are Sinopec Ethylene Project, Huadian Thermal Power Plant, Bohua Project, etc., said Zhang Haoran, the Chief Staff of Planning and Construction Office of Nangang Industrial Zone, TEDA.


TEDA Administrative Commission has established a special taskforce to provide service to XD to expedite project construction. Xianda is also making every effort to ensure project completion as scheduled.
